Shamala Gadgil is an EV Infrastructure Programme Manager working with Coventry City Council, where she leads the strategy and delivery of large-scale electric vehicle charging infrastructure programmes. Her work focuses on translating policy into practical deployment, including public charging networks, energy integration, and innovative delivery models such as solar canopies, battery storage, and wireless charging pilots.
With a background in engineering and infrastructure delivery, she works across public and private sector interfaces to structure commercially viable, deliverable solutions that align with long-term transport decarbonisation goals. Alongside her professional role, she is undertaking a part-time PhD at Coventry University, focusing on knowledge transfer and market readiness for electric vehicle charging infrastructure across different global contexts.
She brings a practitioner-led perspective to energy procurement and infrastructure delivery, with a focus on governance, risk allocation, and real-world implementation.
